Club Mission

What we are about

Kokoro is committed to pursuing athletic excellence. It is the goal of Kokoro to provide a strong and competitive program from which each student-athlete will develop a personal commitment to learning, a respect for independent thinking, an appreciation for rules and guidelines, and an expanding curiosity about the game of volleyball and how the concepts of the game apply to life. Additional emphasis is placed on its members building team loyalty, commitment, and respect for the coaching staff. Through encouraging academic process, Kokoro assists the athletes by helping them gain self-esteem, positive confidence, self-knowledge, and a respect for the knowledge others bring to the game of volleyball.

Mission Statement

To empower young women to be academic and athletic achievers, confident, respectful, and competitive.

Our club recognizes the profoundly positive effect that we have on athletes. Our training and teachings extend far beyond the physical aspects of the game as we also emphasize the importance of learning game strategy, mental toughness, and instilling a champion's minds set.

Kokoro is a Japanese word that is often translated as “heart.” However, the concept of kokoro encompasses what a person thinks, feels, and would like to express. It unites the notions of heart, mind, and soul: It sees these three elements as being indivisible from one other.
